Now see, for three thousand rupees you will be able to travel on the highway without any tension- that means relief from the hassle of toll! Nitin Gadkari himself has announced this. He said, now a new annual pass with fast tag is going to be introduced, with which you can drive on national highways and expressways without any restriction throughout the year.

Benefit? It will be directly available to those people who use the highways daily or frequently. That means, truck drivers, cab drivers, or those whose office is across the highway- this is a great deal for them.

Now will we have to buy a new FASTag again? And does everyone have to do that Rs. 3000 recharge? Is this new scheme that Gadkari has come up with going to work or is it just for name sake? Such questions are being raised everywhere, even on social media. People have lost their minds – nobody is able to understand anything.

People’s doubts

How does this annual FASTag toll pass work?

The system is quite simple. Your existing FASTag will be recharged with Rs 3,000. After this, it will either expire after crossing 200 tolls or after the completion of a year – whichever happens first, will be applicable.

What to do if 200 trips are completed before a year?

If 200 trips are completed before the completion of the year, you can recharge again for Rs 3,000. Every time you recharge, the trip count will start from zero.

Is this pass valid at all toll plazas or just at NHAI tolls?

This pass is valid only at NHAI toll plazas, which include tolls on National Highways and National Expressways. Toll plazas of state or any other agency do not come under this purview.

Parking charges are also deducted from FASTag, so what is the role of this pass?

The toll pass of Rs 3000 is valid only for toll. Parking fee will be deducted from the normal balance of your FASTag. Toll pass will be used only for toll payment.

Is this pass applicable to all vehicles?

At present, this pass is available only for non-commercial vehicles like cars, jeeps and vans. The existing system will continue for commercial vehicles.

Will I get a new annual pass and how will it be recharged?

Soon a separate link will be available on the Highway Yatra app or NHAI/MoRTH website. From here both getting the pass and recharging will be possible. The process will be easy and digital.

Solution to the problem of two toll plazas within a radius of 60 km?

The ministry claims that this pass will also solve the problem of two toll plazas coming within 60 km. This facility is expected to start in the next 15 days.

What is the activation process? Do you need a new FASTag?

There is no need to buy a new FASTag. This pass will be recharged in the FASTag already installed in your vehicle – the condition is that it should be valid and installed correctly, and the pass will be activated only after verification.

Can this pass be transferred to another vehicle?

This pass is non-transferable. It is valid only for the vehicle for which it has been taken. If it is installed on another vehicle or commercial vehicle, the pass will be cancelled.

Is it mandatory for all drivers to take this annual pass?

There is no such compulsion. If a customer does not want to take this pass, the existing toll payment system will continue. The decision completely depends on the convenience and need of the consumer.

This FASTag based annual pass will be applicable from 15th August 2025.

G7 summit:PM Modi met world leaders at G7 Summit

This time India clearly demonstrated its diplomatic status at the G-7 Summit. As soon as Prime Minister Modi arrived at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge in Alberta, Canada, a different kind of seriousness was immediately visible in the atmosphere. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney himself went ahead and welcomed him—this was not just a formality, but an indication of India’s growing global presence.

It is worth noting that Modi has been a part of the G-7 Summit for the sixth time in a row and has strengthened India’s international position each time.
