This time the 56th meeting of the GST Council has really created a stir. Before Diwali, the government has announced a big relief for the general public, small shopkeepers and farmers. The GST slabs, which were a headache earlier, have now been reduced to just two – 5 percent and 18 percent.
Now there is good news for tractor owners too. GST on some parts of tractor has been reduced from 18% to just 5%. And the tractor itself was earlier taxed at 12%, now it is directly 5%—farmers are in for a treat. Nirmala Sitharaman gave all these updates after the meeting. Overall, this time the government has given full relief.
Now GST will not be levied on these things
Now GST will not be levied on these things! Yes, you heard it right. Nirmala Sitharaman herself told that earlier GST was levied on these things from 5 to 18%, now it is zero. The list of those things is as follows
See the list:

Many essential medicines have now been made tax-free, yes, now GST will not be levied on them. And health-life insurance policies have also been kept out of GST.
In the council meeting, the entire GST has been removed from 33 such life saving medicines, which were earlier bearing 12% tax. Now think, getting treatment will be a little lighter on the pocket.
Taxes on everyday items have been reduced
Not only medicines, tax has been reduced on many other everyday items as well. Tooth powder,
