Yogi government of UP has declared a public holiday on Ravidas Jayanti. Earlier there was a restricted holiday on Ravidas Jayanti.
Additional Chief Secretary of General Administration Department Jitendra Kumar informed that the list of holidays for the year 2025 was released on 17 December 2024. Sant Ravidas Jayanti was earlier included in this list as an optional holiday. But now that order has been changed and it has been declared as a public holiday. This means that all government offices and banks will remain closed on this day.
Due to declaration of public holiday, now all government offices, schools, banks and treasuries will remain closed.
Guru Ravidas Jayanti is the birthday of Ravidas, celebrated on Magh Purnima, the full moon day of the month Magh.
