First impression – atmosphere like Chennai Express?

As soon as the teaser and trailer were released, to be honest, memories of Chennai Express were refreshed. Exactly the same North-South cultural difference, romantic journey, and light-hearted humor. The storyline is different, but there were a lot of similarities in the setup.

Talking about the story, it shows the journey of a young man from Delhi, Param, who reaches Kerala for some reason. During this journey, he meets a Malayali girl named Sundari (Janhvi Kapoor).

The film starts with a light comedy, and this tone is maintained for most of the time. The cultural differences between the North and South and the witty banter provide the audience with an entertaining experience and a light smile.

What was special in the film?

• Janhvi Kapoor’s screen presence was really impressive. Her look and confidence in every frame enhances the brand value.
• Talking about the location, the natural beauty of Kerala—waterfalls, mountains, rivers—made the film visually strong. The cinematography looked quite professional and aesthetic.
• The overall tone of the film was light-hearted, which allowed the audience to experience entertainment without any heavy drama. No scope for boredom was left.

Where did we find shortcomings?

• Janvi’s accent – Despite her Malayali background, Janvi sometimes speaks such perfect Hindi that the authenticity of the character is questioned. This breaks the rhythm of the narrative.

• Second half – The film starts off quite engaging, but in the second half the story becomes predictable. The audience already guesses what will happen next, which reduces both suspense and interest.

• Emotional connect – The emotional depth that is required in a love story is missing. The audience does not feel connected to the characters, which weakens the impact of the film.

• Repeat value – People like to watch films like Chennai Express again and again, but this film does not have that re-watch value. After watching it once, one does not feel like watching it again.

Suitable for family audiences? Absolutely.

The film has no objectionable content, so it can be watched with the whole family. There is a small kiss scene in the last scene, but the rest of the film is clean and family friendly.

Is Param Sundari Movie worth watching or not?

Should I watch it or not—to give a straight answer, “Param Sundari” is a one time watch film. The frames and locations are really great, Janhvi Kapoor’s screen presence also adds glamour to the film. But, the storyline and emotional connection are missing that strong element that can draw the audience again and again. So, if you want light entertainment on the weekend, you can watch it once—but this is not a film to be revisited.
