A private bus fell into a 200 feet deep gorge near Patrighat in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday morning.

2 passengers died and about 15-20 other passengers were injured in this accident.

- The bus was going from Baldwara to Mandi and about 25 people were travelling in it.

Immediately after the incident, local citizens started rescue operation and evacuated the injured.

The seriously injured passengers were referred to Nerchowk Medical College, while others were admitted to Community Health Centre, Rewalsar

- A passenger was trapped under the bus and the driver was stuck inside the bus, a crane was called to take them both out.

The team of Sarkaghat Police and Administration has reached the spot and relief and rescue work is underway.

- Initial investigation has attributed the cause of the accident to bad road conditions and driver's negligence.

DSP Sarkaghat Sanjeev Gautam has confirmed the incident. The investigation process has started, and the administration has assured to provide assistance to the families of the deceased.
