It is worth noting that during his last visit to China, India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had raised important issues like urea, NPK, DAP, rare earth materials and TBM. The ongoing tussle between China and America has now clearly come to the surface. After a meeting with India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, senior Chinese leader Wang Yi issued a statement, directly questioning America’s pressure and its unilateral policies.
Wang Yi said that today the world is going through a phase of change, which comes once in many decades. He was pointing towards the increasing interference and pressure of Washington DC. He clearly said that unilateral pressure and intimidation have now crossed the limit, due to which both free trade and the international system are facing serious challenges.
China also described cooperation with India as important. Wang Yi said, “The combined population of both countries is more than 2.8 billion. In such a situation, India and China should shoulder global responsibility on their shoulders.” He further stressed that both countries should unite in the interest of developing countries, increase strength and make a concrete contribution towards a multipolar world.
