Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, today, where he’ll take a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam.
His visit coincides with the Delhi Assembly Election, but the spiritual significance of the day takes center stage.
Modi’s schedule includes arriving at Bamrauli Airport at 10:05 am, followed by a chopper ride to the Mela ground. He’ll reach Arail Ghat near Sector 24 around 11:00 am and take a boat to the Triveni Sangam. From 11:00 am to 11:30 am, he’ll perform pooja and take a holy dip before returning to Arail Ghat and departing for New Delhi .
The Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13, has already seen a massive turnout of over 38 crore people, with prominent figures like Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visiting the site.
Today’s visit is particularly significant, as it falls on Magh Ashtami, a day considered highly auspicious for meditation, charity, and holy dips in the Hindu calendar. It also coincides with Bhishma Ashtami, which honors Bhishma Pitamah’s spiritual journey .
